La couverture est au chocolat ce que Rolex est aux montres. Il est un délice qui fond en bouche. Couverture est un terme utilisé pour les chocolats riches en beurre de cacao et en solides de cacao. Il est la forme la plus supérieure de chocolat, promettant au moins 32% de beurre de cacao pur. La couverture noire est essentiellement une liqueur de chocolat (solides de cacao) à laquelle du beurre de cacao est ajouté ainsi qu'un peu de sucre, de vanille et de lécithine. Sans produits du lait, il est le chocolat le plus pur possible.
